Industrial Projects

Once nicknamed the ‘factory factory’ the practice boasts to having designed more industrial floor space over the years than any other architect in Scotland. With a host of international and ‘household’ named clients (Mirror Group, Levi Strauss, Wrangler, Caithness Glass, Collins Publishers, Hoover to name but a few) our pedigree in this sector is unrivalled.

In 1937 the firm was involved in the setting up of Scottish Industrial Estates, which spearheaded the Government’s Industrial Building programme in Scotland following the depression years. From then until 1978 the senior partner of the firm was Chief Consultant to that organisation which after several changes of name was absorbed into the Scottish Development Agency.  The practice therefore played a lead role in most of the industrial development that took place in Scotland during the 20th Century.
